
The Kingdom of Norway is the northern most country located on the Scandinavian Peninsula, and is boredered by Finland, Sweeden and Russia. The total area covered by Norway is approximatley about 324,000 kilometers or 201,324 miles.
The total population of Norway is around 5.2 million with 80,000 of that population being the indigenous Sami tribes which inhabit Norway, Sweeden, Finland, and Russia.

Language and Religion


The main language spoken in Norway is Norwegian which is separted into the three differeant dialects known as Bokmal, Nynorsk, and Sami. Bokmal is the more widely used language in larger cities like the capital city of Oslo.
The largest practiced religian in Norway is a Lutheran-Protestant Christianity also known as the Church of Norway. About 80 percent of the Norwegian pupulation is affiliated with this church. Even though the Church of Norway is considered the state religion, the citizens have complete religious freedom.

Present-day Norway is a constitutional monarchy consisting of the royal family, and the parliament (also known as the Stortinget). The type of government used in Norway is democratic socialism.
Norwegian society gives its citizens high standards of living since the wefare programs in Norway are some of the best in the world. Norwegian society is also very centered around egalitarian values, making equality a big thing in the country.
